12/17/13: Opportunities to Serve at EMMAUS HOUSE -Harlem

Here is Emmaus House's service schedule so folks can feel free to volunteer and get connected as they are able:

Monday 12/16: The house is open from 9AM-6PM. We receive one delivery from City Harvest, which we need help unloading. We also can use help with cleaning/organizing, office work, intake/home visits, and receiving/sorting clothes for thrift on this day.

Tuesday 12/17: The house is open from 8:30AM-6PM, we begin the day with a community meditation at 8:30AM. We receive one delivery from City Harvest, which we need help unloading and sorting for the upcoming Market Day. We can also use help with cleaning/organizing, office work, intake/home visits, and receiving/sorting thrift on this day.

Wednesday 12/18: The house is open from 9AM-12PM on this day for our Market Day client choice food pantry and thrift sales. We ask volunteers to arrive by 8:30 and stay until 1:30 in order to help with set up and clean up.

Thursday 12/19: The House is open from 9AM-6PM on this day, and operates on the same schedule as Tuesday, minus the City Harvest delivery.

Friday 12/20: The House is closed.

Saturday 12/21 : The House is open from 9AM-6PM. From 9AM-12PM we offer a variety of programs throughout the year including ESL/SSL, tutoring for the G.E.D., arts and crafts programs for children, writing programs for young adults, and anything else our folks need and our volunteers can bring to the table. From 1PM-6PM we operate our thrift shop, our second Market Day for the week, and conduct our 'Soup Run' at 124th & Lexington Avenue.
