PRAYERS FOR THE AURORA TRAGEDY

O Most merciful Savior, our hope and strength in time of suffering and need, we thine unworthy servants come to Thee at this time of confusion and great sadness, and falling down before thee we pray: Give rest among good things to those who have perished in the violent massacre in Aurora; Heal the wounded and raise them up from their beds; Assuage the trauma and anxieties of all who suffered, pouring Thy great mercy upon them all. We pray Thee, O Lover of Mankind, harken to our prayer and speedily have mercy.

To the weeping, the grieving, and the traumatized who witnessed this tragedy and seek consolation and hope amidst the loss of their loved ones and friends, send down Thine angel of mercy in the days and time ahead, and throughout the rest of their lives. Wipe away the tears from their eyes and endue them with the faith and hope and love that come only from Thee. Grant them healing and lead them to awareness of Thy eternal kingdom: we beg Thee, most merciful and loving Physician of souls and bodies, harken to our petitions and speedily show mercy.

Help us and teach us, Thy children, to be ministers of Thy heavenly kingdom and lights of Thy Light in this fallen world, that we may lead all who suffer tragedy, emotional pain and suffering to belief that Thou alone art the only Hope of the hopeless, the Savior of the afflicted, the Deliverance of sinners, and the Resurrection of the dead. Be all things to all men, O God our Savior, since Thou knowest each of us even from our mother's womb, our home and our needs, better then we know ourselves. O most merciful Father and Loving Creator, harken to us sinners, who pray unto Thee and mercifully have mercy.
